- Cadillac
John, Crazy About You, $15. 76-year-old Mississippi
blues singer and sometimes harmonica player Cadillac John shines on
this indie release. He's accompanied by Cleveland, Mississippi guitarist
Bill Abel, and the results are pure deep Delta blues. Cadillac's voice
is nicely aged and recognizable. Abel plays gently amplified guitar
with a slide and a warm tone. Don't let the modest, homegrown packaging
scare you. The recording's production quality is fine. (By the way,
Cadillac sings the traditional lyrics of "Bottle Up And Go",
so be forewarned that the "N" word appears.) 11 tracks:
