  • Last of the Mississippi Jukes Soundtrack, 2003 Sanctuary, $18. The soundtrack from the latest blues documentary by Robert Mugge - the man who brought us Deep Blues and The Gospel According To Al Green. Recorded mainly at the struggling-to-survive Subway Lounge in Jackson, Mississippi, highlights also include songs cut at Clarksdale's Ground Zero Blues Club. These tracks (the first couple) include an original cut by C'dale's own blues party band The Deep Cuts, featuring the song's writer Josh "Razorblade" Stewart on lead vocals. Local Anthony Sherrod also gets a work out playing bass behind Memphis' Alvin Hart and drum legend Sam Carr. (DVD also available.) 14 tracks:
