Our next free CAT HEAD MINI BLUES FEST is Sunday, October 7th after the big fest in Helena. We hold three each year... April's is in conjunction with the Juke Joint Festival, August's is in conjunction with Clarksdale's Sunflower River Blues & Gospel Festival, and October's is after the Arkansas Blues & Heritage Festival formerly known as King Biscuit. ALSO, here's a review of our August mini-fest in Blues & Rhythm magazine (ww.bluesandrhythm.co.uk). Mike Stephenson wrote (issue #193): "[The] Cat Head [Delta] Blues and Folk Art store in Clarksdale, put on [its] own mini blues festival on the street of Delta avenue the day after the main event, featuring CeDell Davis together with Jim[bo] Mathus, Floyd Lee, Big George and Bill "Howlin' Madd" Perry, all with their respective bands, and Willie King in a [separate] solo set. The whole thing was a tremendous event and it shows the blues is alive, well, and very healthy in this part of the world."
