Willie
Kinard -- woodworker and BBQ man.
Mr. Kinard is an amazing
man. This Clarksdale, Mississippi resident says he can build anything
out of wood, and we believe it. From mini airplanes and trucks to local
buildings and signs, his creativity seems endless. He began woodworking
as a hobby about 4 years ago. He'll turn 60 years young soon, but despite
nearly cutting off his thumb recently with a runaway saw, he doesn't seem
to be slowing down any. An African-American from the South with limited
education, Mr. Kinard could have easily given up on life many times, but
his continual optimism, common sense and street smarts have kept him going.
In the past, he's been a window washer, home remodeler and (currently)
school bus driver. Whatever it's taken to get by. He's also known around
town as the guy who does the most far-out Christmas yard display. He also
makes some mean bar-b-que, loves his church and can get down to the Blues.
As I said, Mr. Kinard is an amazing man. And a good friend, too. If you
