Hailed as one of the last Mississippi Delta street musicians and a favorite
of visiting tourists from around the world, Foster Wiley a.k.a. "Mr
Tater, The Music Maker" passed away in Sept 2010. DONATIONS:
Funds are being raised now for a new WALK OF FAME
marker honoring Mr. Tater in Clarksdale. Tater's friend Robin Lane is
spearheading this effort; his hope is to raise enough funds that a marker
can be dedicated during Juke Joint Festival weekend in April. Donations

- PO MONKEY'S LOUNGE, NEAR MERIGOLD, MS: From Clarksdale, take Hwy
61 South 30 miles to Pemble Road and turn RIGHT. Note that the green
Pemble Road street sign is missing, so look for Dollar General on left
side of highway and a brown "Blues Trail" sign on right as
well as as a "Pemble Farms" sign in field at turn-off. [If
you miss the turn off and get to LEFThand "Merigold" exit,
you've gone too far. In that case, turn around and take what will then
be your SECOND left. Then...]. After making turn onto Pemble Road, take
immediate left fork in the road which is gravel. [That's Po Monkey Road,
but that sign is also missing!] The juke is approx. 1 1/4 mile down

- DO DROP INN JUKE JOINT IN SHELBY, MS: From Clarksdale, take hwy 61
south 25 min or so to Shelby exit. Take exit, and drive to stoplight.

Hailed as one of the last Mississippi Delta street musicians and a favorite
of visiting tourists from around the world, Foster Wiley a.k.a. "Mr
Tater, The Music Maker" passed away in Sept 2010. DONATIONS:
Funds are being raised now for a new WALK OF FAME marker honoring
Mr. Tater in Clarksdale. Tater's friend Robin Lane is spearheading this
effort; his hope is to raise enough funds that a marker can be dedicated
during Juke Joint Festival weekend in April. Donations can go to "Tater
