Pat
Thomas -- the original "Cat Head."
Our store takes it's
name in part from Raymond "Pat" Thomas' near legendary "cat
head" drawings. He's done literally thousands on every substrate
imaginable. From plywood and cardboard to table tops and toilet seats.
He is the son of the internationally known bluesman/folk artist James
"Son" Thomas. One of 13 kids, Pat lived with his father till
1993 when Son passed away. During that time, Pat picked up his father's
habits -- good, bad and otherwise. Fortunately, he also picked up his
skills as a blues musician and folk artist. In addition to his cat head
drawings, Pat works with clay and found objects whenever he has materials
at hand. If he has clay to work with, he usually creates various head,
skull and animal designs. He is a featured performer at the blues festivals
in Clarksdale and Leland, Mississippi each year, so be sure to catch him
if you can.

fascinating artist/musician.)
