NEW AND RECOMMENDED! Ok. First off, I personally hate 99% of "tribute albums." Two reasons. 1.) All-star jams usually suck. 2.) The original artist is usually so legendary, that... I mean, what are you gonna do? That said, this tribute is a real-deal, honest and true TRIBUTE to the great Tippo, Mississippi, blues-jazz-songwriting-piano-playing master — Mr. Mose Allison. (Oh, hey... I just remembered. I booked him once for a show at Ground Zero Blues Club here in Clarksdale. He was a true gentleman and and easy-peasy booking. Good people.)

"IF YOU”RE GOING TO THE CITY: A TRIBUTE TO MOSE ALLISON" features fantastic Mose songs interpreted by Taj Mahal, Robbie Fulks, Jackson Browne, The Tippo Allstars feat. Fiona Apple, Ben Harper and Charlie Musselwhite, Chrissie Hynde, Iggy Pop, Bonnie Raitt, Loudon Wainwright III, Richard Thompson, Peter Case, Dave Alvin and Phil Alvin, Anything Mose!, Frank Black, and Amy Allison with Elvis Costello
