I only saw Stevie Ray Vaughan once, but he was (of course) excellent!! Beyond just being so amazing to listen to, he was cool because he didn't copy HIS heroes note-for-note. He synthesized their musics (Buddy Guy, Albert King, Jimi Hendrix, Lonnie Mack, Lightnin' Hopkins, etc.) into his own instantly recognizable blues-rock sound — which has inspired generations of disciples ever since. To me, this is the greatest of his great album output: "Texas Flood." - Roger Stolle (Cat Head)
