Folks ask all the time about the future of the blues. These days, I have an easy answer: "Kingfish." I think Christone "Kingfish" Ingram was 9 years old when I first saw him play with a band on bass guitar. He was clearly not your average 9-year-old. Recently (spring 2019), I caught his show at Red's juke joint. Absolutely fantastic. He grew up a prodigy; today he's a pro — at just 20 years old. This CD is his official debut, and Alligator Records did him up right. Excellent production, gorgeous packaging, photos taking at local Clarksdale haunts (Red's, Ground Zero Blues Club, Shack Up Inn). Recommended. - Roger Stolle, Cat Head
