New original painting from mid-Nov 2020 of preacher and follower shown in front of cypress trees in nearby Moon Lake, for a traditional baptism. Classic art in a homemade cypress frame, 9.5x11" (including frame).

W. (Willie) Earl Robinson was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi, in 1950 but has lived in Clarksdale for decades. The self-taught African-American artist works in both oils and acrylics, and often builds his own wooden frames of found-cypress. His Delta subject matter comes from his own life — including blues musicians, gospel scenes, baptisms, old shacks and Mississippi cotton. His works are in the permanent collections of various museums as well as fans like actor Morgan Freeman. Cat Head has worked with Mr. Robinson since 2002.
