North Mississippi Hill Country blues legend David "Junior" Kimbrough is pictured in his long-gone, Chulahoma, Mississippi, juke joint on the front cover of this epic CD. A Sunday-night visit I made to that juke a quarter century ago blew my mind. Junior Kimbrough, RL Burnside, their kids and grandkids all played. There was folk art painted all over the walls and ceiling. Beers were $1 till the music started; then they were $2. Moonshine was passed around in a plastic jug. And the place was sweaty and packed. This CD sounds like all of that. Great stuff. - Roger Stolle, Cat Head
