The late-great Louis "Gearshifter" Youngblood never met a stranger and always delivered the goods when he stepped in front of a microphone. His many friends included Larry Morrisey (MS Arts Commission), Scott Barretta (Hwy 61 Radio Show), Bill Steber (photographer) and others who helped him recorded his only full albums. This is Gearshifter's final CD, and it features what amounts to a greatest hits collection of his originals and traditional favorites. While he lived in Jackson, Mississippi, he was a regular performer in Clarksdale at blues hotspots like Juke Joint Festival, Sunflower River Blues Festival, Ground Zero Blues Club, Red's Lounge, New Roxy, Cat Head, etc. In 2011 and 2016, my buddy Jeff Konkel and I were fortunate enough to include Gearshifter in both "We Juke Up in Here" and "Moonshine & Mojo Hands" film projects as well.
